2011 National System AwardThe Wellington VHF Group has set a new challenge for the 2011 National System Award. |
2011 National System Award31st December 2010The fun starts tonight at midnight and runs right thru till midnight the 7th February 2011. The Wellington VHF Groups webpage has the rules. In short you work all current NZART Branches and any past or present raliway station. Work first and worry later.... Trying to calculate the Latitude and Longitude may not be easy and I would not ask any operators for that information initially. I think we can create a list of stations and other required information worked and post on this site. Lets not make it too hard for those in the field, lets all have loads of fun like all the earlier National System Awards have been. This is where we can post info on sites you intent to visit including dates and times etc. To post info send an email to me at [email protected] and I will place your note here. Photos also welcome like last year. This sheet may assist you with your Branch Contacts, and a blank log sheet. Good luck and have fun. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Always an interesting question during awards like this.... What Branch area am I in?? Well, the following may help in this area. In your browser open http://maps.google.com In the search box enter http://www.quicktrip.co.nz/nibranches.kml It may take a few seconds to load but the maps will change to NZ with markers for the branches and the blue lines represent the "edges" of the branch territory. This is worked out by calculating for each point on the map what is the closest branch to find the owner. Zoom in and you can get a lot of details. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ NOTICE AREA01/01/2011Raymond ZL1RGM On the road around Taranaki ... 1-3/1/2011 Steve ZL2KG On the road travelling Wellington to Bell Block ...
